An independent creative cafe in the heart of Eastbourne’s Little Chelsea.

Hi! I am Lucy, the owner of the Art House, Eastbourne that I founded in the Spring of 2016. I wanted to create a café offering fresh, healthy, food with an arts twist and so, the Art House was born.

Having two arty children I understood the importance of art and wellbeing and wanted to create a very relaxed art space for all ages to explore and enjoy. I also felt it was important to create a welcoming environment offering locally roasted coffee, a fresh healthy lunch menu and homemade cakes.

We know how important art is for mental health and wellbeing so as the business has expanded we offer a mix of workshops and fun events for local children funded by the council.

Two women happily working together on a pottery wheel. One woman wearing glasses and a black shirt is shaping clay, while the other woman with short hair and a black shirt laughs joyfully. The background features colorful decor and a mural.

We have a wonderful team and they all have an arts background with their degrees and love to pass on their knowledge and love of art and creating. All are DBS checked and have first aid training. We are also heavily involved in the local community.

We have created an inclusive and welcoming space for people to unwind and unleash their creativity and hope to see you soon as one of our many events, lunch or just a cup of coffee.

Giving Back to Eastbourne & East Sussex

We support our local Eastbourne community in real, practical ways — free creative sessions and dinners for families on free school meals, hot meals for the homeless, and regular donations to East Sussex charities throughout the year.

We're also an approved HAF provider for East Sussex Council, offering free workshops during school holidays for eligible families across East Sussex. Find out more and book at www.eequ.info.

A lively indoor restaurant or cafe scene with people socializing, eating, and drinking. Several women are seated at a long table, some using their phones, while others chat or enjoy beverages. In the background, a few women are standing and talking. The decor features bookshelves, plants, and hanging lights, creating a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
